Overview
The Transtecno CMV series combines a mechanical variator with a CM worm gearbox. It is used where adjustable mechanical speed control needs to be paired with compact right-angle output and higher reduction than a standalone VAM variator can provide.
CMV products retain the continuous 1:5 speed range and approximate +/- 0.5 to 1% speed regulation of the variator stage, while the worm gearbox stage provides the output arrangement and torque multiplication required by many conveyor, feeder and process applications.
Key Features
The CMV range includes worm gearbox combinations from CM040 through to CM130. CM040, CM050, CM063, CM075 and CM090 frames use aluminium bodies, while larger gearbox sizes use cast iron construction. The VAM 018, 037 and 075 variator frames use aluminium bodies, with larger variator sizes built in cast iron.
The live product data and brochure list the CMV range across 0.18 kW to 4 kW, with output torque up to 2190 Nm depending on configuration.
Selection Notes
Choose CMV when the application needs right-angle output, high reduction and adjustable speed in one package. Selection depends on required output speed range, torque, mounting position, gearbox version and any radial load at the output shaft.
For replacement work, photos of the existing unit and the full model code are especially helpful. For new installations, include shaft orientation, space limits, driven load and operating hours.
