Overview
The Transtecno CMGV series combines a mechanical variator with a CMG helical gearbox. This makes it useful where a standalone VAM variator does not provide enough reduction or torque, but the application still needs continuous mechanical speed adjustment.
The CMGV range keeps the 1:5 speed adjustment and approximate +/- 0.5 to 1% speed regulation of the VAM variator, while adding the in-line reduction and mounting flexibility of the CMG helical gearbox platform.
Key Features
CMGV units are available with U, H, F and H/F gearbox versions, allowing base, foot, flange or combined mounting arrangements depending on the machine. CMG 01, 02, 03 and 04 frames are built with aluminium bodies, and the VAM 018, 037 and 075 variator frames are also aluminium.
The catalogue data covers ratios from 3.82:1 to 262.05:1 and output torque up to 1038 Nm depending on the selected motor, variator and gearbox combination.
Selection Notes
CMGV selection should start with the required output speed range and torque. From there, the motor power, gear ratio, output shaft diameter, gearbox version and mounting position can be confirmed.
For replacement enquiries, send the existing model code if available. For new equipment, include the machinery type, duty cycle, mounting layout and any radial load or shaft loading details.
