Overview
The Tecnovert TVR2 is a smart motor inverter solution from Transtecno. It integrates a scalar frequency converter with SVM space vector modulation directly into the aluminium terminal box of a three phase AC motor, creating a compact variable speed motor package without needing a separate inverter panel for simpler applications.
TVR2 is designed for machinery where speed control, wiring simplicity and compact installation matter. It can be used for conveyors, packaging equipment, OEM machines, process equipment and industrial systems that benefit from programmable motor control.
Key Features
The TVR2 includes IP66 protection, one programmable analog input, six digital inputs, provision for encoder reading and optional communications including Ethernet, RS485, MODBUS and WiFi. It is also designed as an intelligent device with a processor programmable in C+ software language.
As well as speed control via analog signal or optional potentiometer, the TVR2 can be used as a PLC for predefined or programmable instruction sequences and work cycles. It can also limit the user to selected predefined speeds where machine operation needs to stay within set boundaries.
Motor Inverter Advantages
The motor inverter layout can remove the need for a separate electrical panel in simpler applications. It also allows direction reversal without contactors, helps reduce wiring cost, reduces mechanical stress on the driven machine and limits significant EMC disturbance from the motor cable.
Because the inverter is directly integrated with the motor, it can provide improved overheating protection and support diagnostic alarms for overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage and preset parameter limits.
Technical Notes
The catalogue lists a motor power range from 0.09 kW to 2.2 kW and an operating frequency range from 15 to 100 Hz. Below 30 Hz, forced ventilation is required. Operation outside this range may be possible, but the catalogue recommends contacting Transtecno for advice.
Configuration options include basic external signal control through cable glands, a 4-button keypad, a 2-button keypad with potentiometer, display option and portable programmer accessory. These options make the TVR2 useful for both simple local speed control and more structured machine-control requirements.
Selection Considerations
When requesting a quote, confirm the required motor power, voltage, operating speed range, control method, communication requirements, mounting arrangement and whether encoder feedback or forced ventilation is required. For replacement work, provide photos of the existing motor, terminal box and nameplate if available.
