Overview
The Transtecno TS Series is a range of three phase AC induction motors built around a lightweight aluminium frame. Designed as a reliable, cost-effective workhorse for industrial drive applications, the TS range covers outputs from 0.09 kW up to 3.0 kW in a 4 pole configuration, operating on 230/400 Vac at 50 Hz or 275/480 Vac at 60 Hz.
The motors are totally enclosed and fan cooled, carry an IP55 ingress protection rating and use Class F insulation, making them suitable for a wide spread of general industrial environments. Balanced rotors and a robust mechanical construction deliver quiet, smooth running over long service intervals.
Key Features
Aluminium frame construction keeps the motor light and assists with thermal dissipation, while the fully enclosed fan cooled design protects internal components from dust and splashing. Class F insulation and an operating ambient range of -20 °C to +40 °C provide good margin for typical Australian industrial conditions. Both B5 and B14 flange mounting options are available, which simplifies integration with gear reducers, pumps and OEM machine frames.
Common Applications
TS Series motors are well suited to conveyors, mixers, pumps, fans, packaging equipment, food and beverage machinery, and general OEM drive applications. Their compact footprint and flange mounting options also make them a natural fit as the prime mover on geared units, including worm, helical and bevel-helical gearboxes from the Transtecno range.
Selection Considerations
When selecting a TS motor, confirm the required shaft power, duty cycle, starting conditions, mounting arrangement and supply voltage. For variable speed duty, consider pairing the motor with a suitable variable frequency drive and review thermal derating for extended low-speed operation. Where higher ingress protection, stainless construction, brake functionality or hazardous area compliance is required, alternative motor ranges may be more appropriate.
