The Transtecno CMB series helical bevel gearmotors deliver high efficiency right angle power transmission in a compact, lightweight aluminium package. Designed around the principle of modularity, the CMB range is built to be completely interchangeable with the established CM worm gearbox series, which means you can swap between helical bevel and worm gear configurations without redesigning your mounting layout or drivetrain.
Available in four sizes (402, 502, 633, and 903), the CMB range covers nominal output torques from 40 Nm through to 500 Nm. Key Features
The modular architecture of the CMB series is one of its biggest advantages. The housing is fully interchangeable with the CM worm gearbox range, so if your application needs change or you want to trial a different gear type, you can make that switch without altering your existing mounting points or output connections.
Configuration options are extensive. You can specify output flanges (F, FL, or FB types), solid or hollow output shafts, torque arms for reaction load support, and input flexible couplings. The units accept IEC standard motors from frame size 56 right through to 100/112, with both B5 and B14 flange options available depending on the gearbox size.
Both 2 stage and 3 stage versions are offered. The 2 stage models (CMB 402 and CMB 502) cover ratios from approximately 6:1 to 72:1, while the 3 stage models (CMB 633 and CMB 903) extend the range up to nearly 263:1 for applications requiring very low output speeds with high torque multiplication.
The permanent synthetic lubrication eliminates the need for regular oil changes and allows the gearmotor to be mounted in any orientation. This is particularly useful in agricultural and food production environments where equipment may be ceiling mounted, wall mounted, or positioned at unusual angles to suit building layouts.

Selection Considerations
Choosing the right CMB size and configuration starts with your application torque and speed requirements. Each of the four sizes has a defined nominal output torque: 40 to 65 Nm for the 402, 70 to 125 Nm for the 502, 150 to 250 Nm for the 633, and 280 to 500 Nm for the 903. Matching these to your driven load ensures the gearbox operates within its design envelope.
The service factor is another important consideration. Transtecno recommends consulting their technical department to select the appropriate service factor based on the type of load (uniform, moderate shock, or heavy shock) and the operating hours per day. Getting this right protects the gearbox from premature wear and extends its service life.
Radial and axial load capacity should also be checked, particularly if the output shaft is driving a sprocket, pulley, or gear that introduces side loads. The maximum permissible radial loads range from 3500 N on the CMB 402 up to 9500 N on the CMB 903, with axial load capacity calculated at 20% of the radial value.
