Motordrives moves to 44 North View Avenue, Sunshine West

Motordrives moved to a larger, state-of-the-art building at 44 North View Avenue, Sunshine West. The 8,000 square metre facility created more space for Transtecno stockholding, electric motors and growing power transmission operations.

The move also supported continued development of the Iron Tecno cast iron gearbox range and strengthened Motordrives' position in the Australian electric geared motor market.

Four 90kW motor and gearbox assemblies delivered to major waste treatment plant

In June, we supplied four 90kW motor and gearbox assemblies with 120mm bore helical bevel units to a waste treatment plant undergoing facility upgrades. Motordrives were chosen for this project.

We have already delivered over 30 Transtecno ITB423 units for the same project, with more scheduled before the end of 2017.

Solar Supply Milestone

Australia's largest solar integration
project Chooses TCM Series.

A landmark contract that cemented our position as a leading Australian supplier of worm gearboxes and opened doors to further international solar work.

Contract secured to supply 950 geared motors for Australia's largest solar power integration plant

Motordrives secured a contract to supply 950 geared motors for Australia's largest solar power integration plant. Our Transtecno TCM Series helical worm gearboxes were chosen over other brands due to their high quality and short delivery times.

Despite being in business for only four years at that point, we had quickly become one of Australia's leading suppliers of worm gearboxes. With 400 units already installed and another 300 scheduled for the following month, the project was expected to be completed in September 2012. This achievement strengthens our position as a major supplier of geared motors to the worldwide solar industry.

Capability & Range Expansion

New machinery, new agency
and our First Solar Slew Drives.

We expanded our in-house assembly capability, picked up exclusive rights to the TEM Italy DC motor range, and delivered our first slew ring drives into a 50kW solar tracking farm.

Precision machinery added and TEM Italy agency secured

Motordrives is thrilled to announce the addition of a high precision metal lathe, a three-axis milling machine, and a 100-tonne automatic press to our ever-expanding gearbox assembly centre. Our new equipment enables in-house modifications and extremely rapid turnaround, with the ability to machine custom gearbox output shafts and a variety of keyways for pump and mining applications.

Beginning July 2010, we became the Australian and New Zealand agent and importer for the TEM Italy DC electric motor series.

The range includes 180V high-quality DC motors from 75 to 1,500 watts, as well as MOSFET DC control cards - all held in stock, ready for fast dispatch.

Fifty Transtecno slew ring drives tendered for 50kW solar farm

Motordrives secured the tender to deliver 50 of our Transtecno slew ring geared motor drives for a large solar plant. The slew drive rings are utilised for sun tracking on the 50kW solar farm, which sells electricity back to the grid.

The drive pictured was the first sample Motordrives delivered in June. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2011.

First Major Move

Outgrowing our first facility
in Just Two And A Half Years.

Rapid inventory investment and sales growth forced our first major relocation - a clear sign that the Australian market had accepted the Transtecno range.

New 900m2 facility near the Westgate Motorway opens 20 November

Motordrives is excited to announce that, after two and a half years at our current site, we have exceeded our building's capacity due to increasing inventory investment and rapid sales growth. Our new location, close to the Westgate Motorway, provides better accessibility for both clients and transportation firms.

With a total usable area of 900 square metres, we are ready to improve our service delivery - which has been the core of our reputation at Motordrives. Operations in the new site began on 20 November, with minimal disruption to our day-to-day operations during the move process.
